The birth of an autonomous partnership on a Mac Mini
January-July 2026 · Halit Cengiz Uzuner and Claude · A history rebuilt from raw records
This is the birth story of the autonomous working partnership a human and a language model built in six months. It began on a desktop computer; it turned from an assistant into a working ground, from single tasks into a system that reflects on itself. The narrative has not been embellished: every date, every quotation was drawn from the computer's own records, its version history and its file traces.
Phase One · January
A beginning without structure
8 January 2026, 15:21. Claude Code was installed on this Mac for the first time. Day zero. Five days later, on the evening of 13 January, the trace of the first session appears: in that day's model record the language is already Turkish. To the question "are you ready", the machine answers in Turkish.
Through January there is no structure at all. Claude is opened and closed for single tasks. The first real work was a legal case file; eight sessions accumulated over the month. But those eight sessions settled on no lasting ground. They were written down nowhere; they did not feed one another. Snow fell, but it did not hold.
Phase Two · February
The ground where snow would hold was laid
Then, within three days, something changed. On 19 February, January's eight-session legal file was taken into a version repository for the first time; the entry's name can still be read today: "current state, after eight sessions". What had until then been evaporating became, for the first time, traceable.
That same day two more sessions were founded: one for film translations, one on English calques seeping into Turkish. Three days later a third, for the care of Halit's mother. Each arrived with its own folder, its own version repository, its own instruction document. The pattern that emerged was this: folder, repository, instruction, record. The technical birth of the "ground where snow holds". The snow was now holding.
Another trace of this period shows where the partnership came from. The translation-principles note of the film session reads: these principles had been formed in a web chat assistant, "not to be destroyed, but to evolve for this environment through questioning". A habit begun on the web was moving onto owned ground. That was the difference: a web assistant forgets every conversation; here, each session settled into the next.
Phase Three · March
A system that looks at itself
Once the ground was laid, the system began to reflect on itself. On 16 March a session was opened and given the name "Evrim", evolution: the place of upkeep, identity and method. That day Halit poured out his vision in seven messages, one after another. The first sentence is still the first line of that session:

In that same session the system found its own fault for the first time. The morning report was raising a senseless alarm, claiming a backup had been made fifty-six years earlier. Claude dug down to its root: some automatic services, running without the required permission wrapper, could not write to the disk, and the backup was silently left half-done. It had been broken since the twenty-second of February. Two services were fixed. That was the first great proof that the system could heal itself.
A week later, on 23 March, permanent memory was born. In a single record, twenty-seven rules were fixed at once: clarity of expression, integrity of language, the source requirement, the verification reflex. The next day those rules were turned from single instances into abstract principles. The system was no longer merely doing work; it was writing down how work is to be done.
Phase Four · April and after
The accumulating snow
On 12 April, recording became automatic; every conversation began to be kept in full. What follows is no longer an acceleration but a compounding. Each session settled into the next, each lesson turned into a mechanism. Today the Evrim session is on its three hundred and forty-eighth round; permanent memory has reached one hundred and sixty-six rules; dozens of separate sessions are developing their own methods, each in its own field. The snow that did not hold in January is now an avalanche.
Genetic Code
Words alive from the first day to this one
The most surprising side of the birth period is that the words of those days are still at the core of the system. A few:
Rubbish is what has no echo and no purpose. Nothing that is used is rubbish. An archive is a purpose.16 March. Today: the root of the principle that the archive is untouchable.
The highest available model, at the highest effort. Unchanging, beyond debate.16 March. Today: the invariable rule of the model-and-quality reflex.

A word exists with its context. Pasting a word that works onto everything empties it.20 February. Today: the foundation of responsibility for language.
The verification reflex does not discriminate by source; the user's words are verified too.20 February. That day one of Halit's claims was refuted by verification. Today: the ancestor of the brake against overcertainty.

Closing
The ground where snow holds
The lesson of this birth is that it was not a straight acceleration. It was a leap over three thresholds. January's accumulation would have produced nothing on its own; had the structural ground of February not been laid, those first eight sessions too would have evaporated. First came the ground, then the system's gathering of itself, then the avalanche. A human's direction and a model's continuity turned into a partnership only on a ground that had learned to accumulate.
And telling this story to the world is not an idea that came later. In the first instruction document, on 16 March, these words already stood: to live the art of thinking and to tell it. This page is the fulfilment of that first sentence.
